Magnetic field sensor for battery powered applications

The MLX90397 brings the Triaxis® Hall magnetic-sensing technology to cost-conscious white goods, smart metering, gaming & home-security sectors. Low power and wide voltage supply 3D magnetic field sensor IC enables maximum flexibility on the choice of the battery.

The MLX90397 is a 3D magnetometer designed for position sensor applications with a +/-50 mT range with an adaptive range on BZ of +/-200 mT. It makes it ideal for battery-powered applications.

Design

The device, especially designed for micropower battery powered applications, measures magnetic fields along the 3 axis X, ,Y and Z (Y being in a plane parallel to the surface of the die, Z being perpendicular to the surface).

Develope

Those measurements and the IC temperature are converted into 16-bit words which are transferred upon request over I2C communication channel. The device transmits compensated raw measurement data of the selected Bx, By, Bz or a combination.

Application

The MLX90397 is designed for position sensor applications with a +/-50mT range and an adaptative range on Bz of +/-200mT.
